The Weeping Pillar of Oros

Rising abruptly from the sea of golden switchgrass, the Weeping Pillar is a lone, thirty-foot monolith of pitted obsidian. It stands as a stark, vertical scar against the flat horizon of the southern plains. Though the surrounding land is parched, the stone is perpetually slick with a thin film of cool, fresh water that bubbles from an invisible hairline fracture at its peak.

The water does not fall; it clings to the obsidian, flowing downward in intricate, rhythmic patterns that resemble weeping eyes before vanishing into the dry earth at the base. Local legends claim the monument marks the spot where a primordial titan fell, its grief transformed into a permanent spring.
